Partial Hendrix
I saw your image once
too brief for it to last,
You, a son of Ephraim
singing epithalamiums past.
Burnished chords spilling out
from black marble hands,
Sonorous notes in length
longer than rainbow bands.
In balance the interval
of his being on our shores
went by like the magic
of a green-sky sundown.
