Hmm...well, how do you expect them to treat this "illness?" The fact remains that young boys, regardless of age, have been abused and mistreated, sexually. These priests are in the role of their mentors and are being trusted as spiritual advisors. Somehow they have to stop it and if the hallowed halls of Catholicism is a nice cover for homosexual men to be together, then they should alter that also. I would vote for allowing marriage and abolishing the celebacy rule which appears to be a nice cover for them. The horror to me is the way they make light of it or have in the past. How many priests were allowed to remain in the clergy after having abused young boys - I don't see how the age makes that big of a difference. What 9 or 12 yr old boy would have the knowledge or understanding to know exactly what was going on with his pastor. They are still young and impressionable and it is still abuse. Many priests were allowed back after completing a few hours of counseling and then put back to abuse again.
