I can agree with that statement. They are obviously two separate entities, at least legally. However, the question could be asked if they are two *different* organizations. As you have done, it is easy to demonstrate that they serve each other.
Large corporations routinely create subsidiaries with the sole intention to serve each other. Let's say a bank creates an entity to deal with all its real estate transactions, which churns out another to deal with title insurance. The three entities only or mainly work with each other as partners but all of them are under the bank's overseer power. The subtle distinction is that these organizations must disclose their partnership as the law requires, even more so as a result of last year's events with more stringent regulation.
One thing is clear to me, that between all the skeletons in The Family's closet and current events in the world (anti-terrorism laws, anti-money-laudering laws, sexual abuse of children, etc.) they have a very delicate line to walk.
Their lies have to make sense for interested parties like newspapers not to investigate further. If they do not make sense upon even a superficial inspection, as you discovered in looking at the FCF's involvement in the Family's business, they are bound to get in deep dooodoo.
Coming to think of it, they are already in big doodoo, have you ever read The Cesspool?
