hi ray! i have a question... at first you were a TSer right, because you were told that you didn't live up to the DO standards...? correct me if i'm wrong.

how long did you keep your TS/FM status? how was your transition to finally breaking of all membership ties?

the reason i'm asking is because in our area we are friends with a FM couple, they were re-classified to TS during the purge in '90-'91. they often talk about how unjustly they were treated, and recognize how the F has failed other too, but they remain FMs. i think they could use the 10% they send for much better things, they struggle financially as it is, they have a big family. they don't seem to make very many efforts to improve they're personal quality of life, so i'm wondering: are they hanging on to the idea that Jesus is coming back any day now and the system is on it's way down, so why make an effort to be successful "in the system"? i suspect that hanging on to the F and the end of the world scenario is a crutch and excuse for not paying their dues to society. the dues that need to be paid in order to have any measure of success... the healty kind of achievement that has nothing to do with greed, but success that heals the insecure soul, but which F doctrines calls worldliness.

i feel sorry for the people i mention above, one example of how unfortunate their situation is: this summer their 12 yr old daughter very much wanted to go to a summer camp, but they couldn't afford it... if they weren't sending in a tithe, i'm convinced that they could have afforded it.

we get along pretty well with this family, granted there are some disagreements because we've been vocal with them about some of our "exmember" feelings about the F.

they were in india, and the wife, the swiss partner in this couple joined in india. they know you and maybe if i could tell them some things about how you made a transition from TS to exmember freedom maybe it would be beneficial for them to hear.
