They are always trying to keep the troops excited and upbeat, unrealistically so. That's the whole point of the "doom" message - it's so exciting to be living in the last days and be flaming prophets in the end. Sure, sure. All these things I read from Maria are like last ditch attempts to keep the troops thinking they are onto something, like we thought in the beginning. Trouble is, it's harder to fool the second generation.
