Also I think the loved one I still have in the F, could be doing so so much more with their time and their life.
Mama and Peter are not in touch with reality. And F members, as wonderful as many of them are, they are not capable of being real with anyone who is not a F member. In fact, are they even real and up front with even each other?
I don't think I'm being hard on the F. You can't just say "I'm sorry for the mistakes, mistakes were made. We're sorry for how you got hurt."
The Catholic church is not going to get over what they're going through any time soon, but they have taken the right steps.... which the F has not even begun to do! The Pope and the rest of the Church's hierarcy on down is unequivocally on record as saying that those who had sex with children are guilty of crimes and the church must turn any and all offenders over to the criminal justice process. The Pope in no uncertain words has given amends for the "tragedy" of what has happened, and has expressed his "shame" for how priests abused the trust that had been placed in them. He takes personal responsibility.
To live in "today" you need to be able to live with your past. You don't "bury" the past as just say "we aren't like that anymore", "we've learned from our mistakes."
No, I don't think I'm being to hard on them. Great if the Activated mag is wholesome Christian material. But it will never have the success that they say they're going to have.
To even get close to the what the 7th Day Adventists, or Jehovah's Witnesses, or others like them sell and have gained as members, the F will never ever get even nearly that far. The F is 25 yrs too late, and the market is not there anymore.
I remember reading a GN a couple of years ago and Dad gave a message from heaven that was putting down the publications of other Christian groups and churches and saying that they can't even begin to hold a candle to how great the F's Activated magazine is. My wife said, if he's really speaking from heaven is he going to have that kind of an attitude?
