Sounds like the P.R. poison apple to me. Pretty on the outside but rotten at the core. Have you read the recent stuff about people that have recently visited or have family within? Nothing wholesome about that!
And Pedophilia, incest,pimping, etc. are not "mistakes", they are crimes. And when they are done in the name of God, it is just all the worse. Even IF the family turned away from all that, the sexualized atmosphere around children is still wrong, and the LJR, too.
And if none of those were happening anymore,then the CONTROL that occurs over people and their important life decisions (education, vocation, relationships, etc.) is enough all by itself to warrant the family as highly destructive, IMO.
