I think there are different reasons why different people stay. I see my exhusband as the chief of sinners, yet I see my daughter as caught in a cogmire and unable or incapable of seeing anything different, her growth being stunted and the people around her reinforcing that thought-process. There are definitely several levels in the F. yet they all travel the same path, they think.
