it is actually a pretty popular name...i have run into several, including a radio show, w/ NO connection to the f.,...i am pretty sure barney is in no way w/ the fcf...is umbrella'd under a totally different, non-family, 501c-3 entity. i don't think barney is gonna give 10% away if he can help it! ha!
as a side note, i have been to barney's many many times. i believe he provides a very helpful service, much appreciated by those who use it, and is basically theologically neutral. i gotta say, i think he could find far easier ways to provide for his family, and works really hard to help people get independent. he also will help family members..w/o endorsing their agendas. his kindness and hospitality have outshone f. homes many times...which has GOT to make those folks stop and think. i disagree w/ barney on many issues, but count him as a friend. he is the kind of person who if i broke down on the side of the road i think i could call and know he would drop what he was doing and try to help me out...for that matter w/o stopping to check on my family status or the like. granted, he is a little nuts, but a pretty good guy. (j/k barney...i know i have to include that or you'll kill me!!ha!)
