Has a very GOOD program in Houston,TX. Houston phone #: 713-523-2231. Has on-site clinic (physical health). Assists in many areas. Helps runaways, "throw-aways" teens and adults thru age 21. Includes WITH children.

Residential facility, long term, helping women to regain self-esteem wholistic approach. Very nice facility. Women only. (If you are a woman with children, this facility does not house children)
Must be 90 days clean/sober, 90 days without attempt at self-harm. Interview by appt. Sometimes a waiting list, but very worth getting in!

Anyone considering a place should give a call and feel it out for yourself! Hope this helps someone.

I think that when someone is ready to get on their feet and get help and haven't found other resources, some of the above provide some really good assistance.(In case anyone wants to leave the family, a domestic violence situation, wants help with a drug abuse problem, or has kids and nowhere to go to, etc. Quite often, these places are not advertized.) There could be another whole list, much longer, of places locally that are geared primarily towards drug/alcohol abuse treatment and transitional living, also for people with HIV, AIDS. Of course in a long list, the reality is that there will often be some waiting time at some places.
