Thank you for your reply, it was thought provoking. I understand your position clearly.
I have one comment regarding a statment you made:
"Why not go to movingon and ask them if they would recommend Cancion? "
It would be interesting to ask how many have actually received help from Cancion, or Barney. How many went back for a second helping.
For example, Hammer of God comes on Crossfire every few months breathing fire and brimstone about Barney, but soon thereafter always seems to move back into Laurelhome.
It's probably not so much that these kids love Barney, as they feel they have no place else to go.
At the same time, a large number of FGA's continue attempts to demoralize him.
What happens if he gives up before the so called anti-Berg forces get their act together enough to offer an alternative?
I have heard from FGA's who proclaim that they survived when they left the group without help from these evil "para-cogs". But, the FGA's at least had some prior life outside the group. Perhaps friends and family (small f) to go to. In many cases, the kids who end up at Laurel have parents who are still in the Family, and that is the only life they have ever know.
You are right. I'll never understand some things. One of the things I'll never understand is how some folks can complain out of one side of their mouth that there isn't enough help available, and curse those who do offer help out of the other side.
There is all this talk about these secret people toiling away in silence, but offering a significant level of help. I have no doubt why they keep their mouths shut. Look at what has been said about me for the crime of speaking out, and I've never even been in the Family.
Bless them, but secret people might be difficult to find once you've been set out on the curb.
Barney also gets heat for being so public about his offerings and accomplishments, but at least he is easy to find in a pinch.
