I am not sure if you are aware of the actual nature of the truly Narcissistic personality. it might be fair to say that people may have some tendencies but Narcissistic Personality Disorder briefly defined is as follows:
1.The essential feature of Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration and lack of empathy that begins by early adulthood and is present in a variety of contexts. Individuals with this disorder have a grandiose sense of self importance. They routinely oversestimate their abilities and inflate their accomplishments, often appearing boastful and pretentious. They may blithely assume that others attribute the same value to their efforts and may be suprised when the praise they expect and feel they deserve is not forthcoming.
2. preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success or power
3. belief in being "special" and unique above others
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has sense of entitlement unreasonable expectations of compliance from others
6. interpersonally exploitive, takes advantage of others to achieve own ends
7. lacks empathy is unwilling to recognize or indentify with feelings of others
8. envious of others or expects others to be envious of him/her
9, shows arrogant, haughty behaviours or attitudes

I am not angry at your post or do not like you Joseph. I actually really appreciate many of your posts. I just do not think the ex member community fits the criteria. If anything we are struggling with self image, esteem and adequacy issues and most are empathetic to others. I think the above description applies to Berg and other such leaders in the Family but not to general ex members or even members. The fam is in bodage to a false prophet who has been succeeded by a blind, divinating, channeling voices from her own mind, self absorbed and controlling literal witch who lives in a closet. That is not venting I think that is what maria is. I think I may know the family member you are talking about. If so be advised they are directed from the top, they know the sexual doctrines and they know that Mo was a pedophile and they may accept it is ok to abuse children. I would have a very difficult time in the same room with that level of member because of the serious crimes and massive hurts that have been levelled on others. Perhaps I just am not able to deal with the issue in the same way as you, I don't know. Anyways you got my two cents worth and thanks for being here on the boards with us old cog boots Ha!
