That was a beautiful writing, and so true.
I can relate to what you said about the Family, having lived ten years in another system where we were expected to strive for so-called perfection. You said, "There the rules were many and vast, so much so that I walked a tightrope daily and fell constantly." Isn't that the truth! At least in the jungle we can OPENLY make our mistakes. We don't have to sneak around and hide them, for fear of not measuring up. One horrible thing about cults is that they breed hypocricy. As you pointed out, they make us something we were never meant to be.
