there is this mindset amongst exers. That is the reason for that statement by Joseph. It was in a thread about friendships with people in the Family, and about liking certain things about the Family. It was addressing something that doesn't seem to be that clear and obvious in some posts.
Most of us here were once a part of that madness too. Not only do we all have different experiences of the Family, but we exers are all at different stages of withdrawal from Family beliefs, and at different stages of processing the experience. Some cling on to parts they liked and are even nostalgic for all things Family. Many were kicked out and would rather have stayed in and only changed geographical locations but never really left the Family. There are those of us who are pretty angry and anti anything Family, and with good reason. Some have left it so far behind they can no longer relate to it. However, if we ask ourselves if we arrived instantly at our current postition and opinion of the Family, or if we gradually awoke to the deception as we had time and space to think and receive information from other sources than The Family, most of us would say that the transition and awakening was gradual.
