"it seems to me that it would be helpful at least in the exmem community to realize that we all did things in the family that we certainly would never have dreamed of on our own, and for a wierd mix of motivations from desire to please God, to fear of man, to peer pressure, to altruism, to our own selfish fallen nature,to love as best anyone can figure that out. if that could be a given, a safer atmosphere for all might make this forum more like getting together w/ old friends, w/ whom we've shared some intense experiences, and talk, laugh, cry, sypathise, lovingly disagree, share new insights etc. but it seems another vision for this space prevails. and that is ok. people w/ more urgent business then mine abound. gby."

Perhaps I hadn't read as many posts of yours to see where you're coming from. I've just read your answer to Rocky and that helps me see better. We obviously diverge on how to approach the subject.

Person to person is the best but in this day and age there are other ways of communication that allow people to remain annonymous and establish or continue conversation in a safe non-threatening environment. There are virtual spaces (crossfire comest to mind) to scream and vent and many people seem pretty comfortable there (it also provides a diversity of opinions) but other spaces are needed as well where victims of victimization are not chased or shunned simply because they tell their story. To be branded as non-Christian just because the pain inside makes one to explode is frustrating. Many experienced that in the Family or in leaving the F through their character assassinations.
