is this miguel of old? if so , greetings from across the aeons! (if not greetings anyway!)
the quote is from a book entitled "if only" by david seamonds. i hesitate to try to explain it to you until my eyebrows grow back from marina's post. that one sure fried my dahl! i do think the book is an excellent insight , (tho sadly, it is written by a man..)from a very respected, experienced, and compassionate writer and counselor who has worked in the field of counseling sexual abuse victims, from primarily religious settings, for decades. but i'll let him take the heat for himself.
i did not say i thought this site shuns christian values. i think what i said was i was reluctant to post here on certain issues due to my past as a leader in the family, and being on a different page (or something like that) theologically than most of what i read here. from the responses i get, i think you'll have to admit, whatever "perceptions" i need to "reveiw," that observation has proven to be rather astute. i believe you are referring to a reply to one of marina's posts where she refers to the bible as an "ancient book who favors those very dicks that sowed misery and destruction." eloquent, no doubt, but will you forgive me for holding a slightly different veiw of scripture?
i'm glad you are still a christian. i'm glad you are free from "bergism". i'm glad i am too. he has had a dramatic effect on my past. still has an effect to some extent on my present, as we deal w/ the aftermath in the lives of the kids. but hopefully, w/ the Lord's help, an ever decreasing impact on my future.
as far as future discussions go, mercifully, i'm back on the road soon. blessings.
