In Response To: To Ray re question repost from below (Rocky)

rocky, thank you for that lengthy, detailed and well explained response. it certainly contained a great deal of insight, and spiritual depth. i think it also helped me see perhaps why you post in the manner you do. from a personal experience point of veiw, you certainly have more than i, or anyone else posting on the board that i know of.

it may be difficult to address the issue, given the fact that readership here encompasses everyone from victims of specific sexual abuse, to those who were adults, and drawn into the sexual practices of sharing and ff'ing thru spiritually manipulative prcatices,to folks who are still into it. what a therapist would say in front of a victim, or to a group of concerned relatives, or in a paper on the subject would vary greatly. for some, me, being a male exfamily member who was a longtime leader to even explore the issue might be deemed offensive. yet as a person who continues to look to scripture for guidance, and w/ many kids and exfam kids around, and who sincerely would like to see folks in need helped, to raise questions in a forum such as this seems at least reasonable. but i do not mind leaving, if the point of veiw is offensive to folks who have had more to deal w/ then myself.

all that said , rocky, do you feel that by posing the question i did, that it may make a reader feel "rushed" towards a step they are not yet ready? personally, when i raised the issue, i did it feeling that looking at biblical examples of overcomers, even if we may feel their example is currently beyond our reach, is at least a possible source of hope. if you think about what some of these people lived thru, wow, the strength they recieved from on high is to me one of the things that makes the bible such a source of stregth to so many, when it can be extricated from the twisting it recieved in mo's hands.

in other words, do you have any thoughts on the actual quetion i asked, which i don't think your answer , as helpful as it was, actually addressed. (if you would prefer not too, that's ok...not trying to harass you.) gby.
