I was talking with Achick about some health problems I was going through the last 7 or 8 weeks and she asked if I wanted to post about it here. I am OK now, two days ago my chardiologist said I am fine. It started with feeling weak to the point that I coudn't drive and had to take off work. I had blood tests done and found out my cholesterol was 338 and trigliserites were 570, very high numbers. My primary doctor put me on lipitor which I dicided not to take. Most of our cholesterol is made by our liver. Lipitor makes your liver stop producing it. I got a book titles Syndrom X. It recomend cutting out anything made of white flour, no sugar, no white rice, lot's of fish in the diet as well as chicken, turkey and read meat once a week. Lot's of vegetables, no fruit for the time being and not grains. Also mild exercise. Suplements of vitamins, fish oil, olive oil is good, garlic, alpha lipoic acid. I was also fasting two days a week though this was not in the book. The results were spectacular. My trigliserites went down to 145 and my cholesterol was lowered by about 60 points in about 3 weeks. So far I have lost 22 pounts as a result. My bigest fear was not the cholesterol after I understood more about cholesterol. It was the possibility that my arteries may be closing by plaque which eventually close completely stopping the flow of blood and oxygen and you get a heart attack or stroke and may die. I did a treatmill and EKG test and the doctor said there was a blockage inside the heart muscle and I should do angiogram, where they stick a wire all the way to your heart and put some dye to see if there are any blockages. this procedure in not that safe. Any any rate I happened to hear about CT topography, which is simply taking computer pictures of your heart. The results of the computer pictures were negative. I am fine. My chardiologist said he was mislead by the EKG and treatmil test and I am fine and is sending me back to my primary doctor. This is the short version of what happened. I feel fine, lots more energy since I eat better and exercise more. Sam Ajemian
