We eat it often as it is part of my kids childhood mythology and as most childhood memories tied to feelings of comfort. So is mango chutney, and curry anything.
When my son was only 2 and we got back to Europe, he would not want to eat almost anything - all he wanted was dahl and rice. Ah, the power of HABIT. It takes a while to change that. Now it is not a habit, but a always a welcome food.
MG, I also wanted to tell you that the Patience who got in trouble for the poster was Patience of Ahimelec (Michael Fogarty) and that she was so blasted because of that she wrote several 'repentance confessions' and changed her name to Lily.
I felt sorry for her because I could not stand that poster EITHER, and especially because you guess it, BEFORE she joined the F she was had a degree in *architecture,* (I think she did finish as she was in her 20's, I read it in her testimony)
In such a case, of course she made comments about that...it was part of her personality I guess. But then you could NEVER be yourself in the F. and you had to kill your personality to survive, or try to.
That was the thing that made me suffer the most, that identity split, and that was what really damaged and killed some when put under intense Inquisition style practices. (see Merry and Watchman)
