Thanks for what you wrote. It is ironic, isn't it. But to me, humanity is spirituality. (In the sense of what you described). I remember riding on trains in Germany when my kids were small, everybody shoving to get a seat, a lady puts her purse on a seat and complains that the three kids I was travelling with that were leaning on me and I was holding on to them were too near to her!
Sometime later,on a flight from Moscow to Berlin on Aeroflot,my 3 kids and I sat directly behind the 1st class row. There was a German lady and a Russian man in front of us. My kids had already been on a long flight from Indonesia originally and they were restless, so I pulled down the trays for food which were on the backs of their seats- so my kids could color. Well, I was pretty restless too. The german lady was complaining that the kids movement bothered her, they needed to be still and not jar the back of her seat. Well that was impossible without morphine!!! So she reached back and slapped one of my kids on the head. I got so mad I got up and slapped her right back and told her she better not touch them again. The Russian guy got up and came to sit with us and laughed, ordered two Stolis and the rest of the trip was fine!
