I think we need to be able to ask honest questions and I found your thoughts interesting.
There's no saying for sure one way or the other that the "fire" of hell is literal. It couldn't be. How could literal fire burn an indestructible body anyway? And if it's not literal "fire" well, it must be some kind of punishment or payback.
But my point is, I don't think extreme torture like being on the rack for eternity is in keeping with the nature of God.
