Concerning the rape issue:
One of the possible reasons an alleged rape is looked at more closely in the case of a "boyfriend" or "husband", rather than a "stranger", is that women, as do men, often lie, or eggagerate in order to foist suffering upon their "loved one". This may happen even more frequently in the case of a long-term relationship, as there are often more built-up values or issues at stake, and the feelings involved can be magnified due to expected standards of behavior from the significant other in non-sexually related issues. The charge of rape then becomes the way to "get back" at the partner for perceived or imagined transgressions.
Though there are definite instances where the justice system as it exists has failed in providing adequate recognition to victims of rape or physical abuses of other categories, citing only extreme examples favorable to one's own position ignores the details of each unique situation.
