So in my opinion, every SGA who has a convincing story of abuse can at least be "validated" by their peers, right? In your case the Catholic church wisely decided to settle out of court. It'd be great if the Family itself one day validated the claims of abuse, not some little ambiguous apology "we're sorry if anyone was unintentionally hurt by something never intended in the letters," but I guess that'll never happen, as such an admission would destroy the group.
