Kerry, we've all walked in those shoes. It's like having a helluva hangover to wake up the morning after and realize that so much of what we thought was good and true was the ramblings of a drunk man. What's worse is to wake up and not KNOW his ramblings were wrong, but to feel condemned like, "Oh I was weak. They were right, I was wrong. God's judging me. I'm a failure."
Better to just check the label on the bottle we were drinking and admit, "Yup! Berg was giving me rubbing alcohol to drink!" flush the crap down the toilet, get out and get some fresh air and a new start on life.
You deserve it, buddy. Let God heal the wounds that un-loving shepherds gave you and trust that Jesus is your REAL loving shepherd and he's still there. He is.
