I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes I feel for you so much. I identify with you. I really truly with all my heart believed Berg was God's prophet. I beieved he'd come to liberate us from the "damn churches" and make us the best Christians and missionaries there ever were, but the saddest thing about Berg was that he was not the man he could've been.
He could've done a lot for God, but he decided to abuse all those kids instead and get drunk on sherry and prophesy false visions. The creep was probably drunk when he wrote that heartless rebuke to you. WHERE WAS THE LOVE?? WHERE WAS THE UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSION??
Here was the guy who had written "Prayer for Love and Mercy" who dumped shitloads of condemnation and fear on the poor husband of a murdered Family member. Instead of even checking out the fuckin' facts--what REALLY happened!--he guzzles some sherry and "gets if from the Lord" that your wife was selfish and withholding sex from the guy! He even sympathized with her "poor murderer."
"By your words ye shall be justified and by your words ye shall be condemned." David Berg stands condemned by his words. That ML "Irfers' Beware" is a millstone around his neck. I can't believe he was so heartless and insensitve and full of foolish anger with you.
My heart really goes out to you bro. You think you're the messed-up one? Lemme tell you, Berg was the REALLY messed up one. Our problems came when we looked to him for answers instead of to Jesus. You can be darn sure Jesus was not inspiring Berg to write that Letter. You can be sure Jesus wasn't condemning you.
