I was in the Family from 1972 till 1978 and then again from 89-91. I had no church background and was a draft dodger who lived in the communes in Oregon Cavejunction. While taking LSD i became aware that there was a God and wanted to know how to find the truth. No one else seem interested I felt alone and no one else was seeing. When I met the Family I was in desperation and fear and prasyed God please help me and a car stopped and asked me if I wanted a ride. It was Sam and his wife going from Tillicum to Portland. The good news is I received Jesus and saw truth at that moment.
The fact that I learned about Jesus and the word which changted my life made me blind to all the weird things that were happening.
When I met Shulamite IRFER'S Beware I had been in the Family for 4 years. I was an assistent shep in a LA home after being jailed in Mexico and deported. My Distric Sheps Joseph and Shume forgive my spelling were home visiting there parents. I was told they were at there parents to long and not to trust them when they came buy. I loved them and this was the first time I wondered about the fam.
I met Shula and fell In love with her. I couldn't believe I was in love. What a miracle from God. The shepperd accused us of having sex and we had a battle because I was all the time true. I went out with Shula to wait for leadership and they came and put me in a room alone and told me to go out wittnessing by myself. I was in agony all night and in the morning everyone the leaders were gone so I made the teams and sent everyone out except fo one girl watching the children. Her and her husband used to be my Regional in Mexico so I told her I was leaving and as I left with Shula she yelled GODS GONNA CURES YOU. Wow.
I went to my fathers house and had every intention of going back to latin america with Shula so we started raising support and littnessing.
One of the big wig leaders came to my dads house and told me I expected this of you but Shula how could you. A beautiful Family love story and wedding. Then he took all my letters which I loved and gave me the ax.
I protected my dad from nowing anything was wrong as I didn't want it to hurt his faith. He was a sheep.
We went to ELSALVADOR and became the shepherds as everyone in the area backslid including the Bishops. Bretheren said they had all heard rumers about the United States COG and about problems like ours so I blew it all off to serve the Lord and learn about love. I loved latinamerica.
