I have no recollection whatsoever of the icecream incident ( ?!!)and personally unless you show me the thread I have a hard time believing I could have anything 'against' you making icecream. Why would I care? It sounds ridiculous to say the least. Besides, what was the context - was it a humorous thing? Maybe there was some humor in it and the text did not make it clear?
And, besides, you would call that 'trashing?' Again, even the fact that you remember this as something significant surprises me as I don't remember ever talking to you.
The main reason why I find your way of reasoning faulty is that this way of lumping everything together leveling the field makes it so that people really end up NOT believing at all that brainwashing exists and that it is only an excuse.
This is a long talked about debate and the kind of one size fits all Christian feeling-sorry-for-mankind view you inject in it seems to do detriment to the dialogue many have tried to create. The 'brainwashing' theory is thrown out the window exactly because 'there is no place to stop' just like there is no place to stop when criminals are taken to court if 'abuse' is the 'excuse' that made them do everything.
The excuse stops where accountability starts. And Zerby is accountable for numerous crimes, for having promoted them and for being in charge.
Anyway, that being said, you are entitled to your opinion and your feelings just as I am entitled to mine.
And you can make all the icecream you want. It is your life and your icecream. :)
