Not to rub a sort spot here, but could that be true of Maria back then? Vulnerable, idealistic, gullible, not street smart, and now caught in a web, unable to see her way out?
I work for some Jewish people from time to time. Some can be SO nice, while others can be SO - what's the word I'm looking for here .....CULTISH!
