On abuse - who is at fault

I keep thinking this over and keep getting pissed about it again.

I recently had some debate with present family "youth" though in reality they are in their mid and later 20s (when will Family kids ever be mature adults and get to drop a title attached to their name?)

Anyway, the subject came up of abuse, and whether it is the fault of the group or the individual. No matter what you say or how you argue it, the Family (or at least the ones I have talked to) will never admit that the Family should hold some responsibility for the child abuse that happened. They say, "blame the individual". The subject was brought up that the Family should bring those individuals to the law instead of being a law unto themselves, or excommunicating the perverts and letting them loose on poor society's innocents.

The Family youth argued that it is up to the individual who was abused to take that person to the law, not up to the Family.

I find it ludicrous and ridiculous. On paper that sounds good and fine, but the reality is so different.

The parents who are in the Family gave their children over to the group. Especially back a decade or so when a lot of this abuse was more rampant. Kids were sent to schools, homes and colonies were large, there were not absolute rules concerning sexual relations with minors and how to deal with perverts who molested them.

The Family has the "One Wife" doctrine where they are all one family and take care of each other and watch out for one another. The Family gave their word to care for those who enter the group, and made it seem that they were the best and safest place to live and you couldn't do better anywhere else in life then living as a missionary inside their group and serving Jesus and following His Endtime Prophet.

So, why shouldn't the goddamned Family be responsible to take perverts to justice!! Why aren't they as responsible as the parents, the caretakers, the individual to ensure that not only justice is served but that those pedophiles are no longer a menace to society? It's a damned lame excuse to stay out of trouble with the law, and it makes me MAD AS HELL!!

The Family NEVER made it clear that you should take those people to the law. They NEVER advocated reporting individual members to the police no matter the crime, they never made a statement, to my knowledge up to the year 2000 that you had the free will to bring a pedophile to the courts. It has always been the opposite in fact, do everything you can to keep the law out of Family business, the law, the courts, the judges, the police, they are the enemy and they are trouble and we are God's people who can do no wrong.

So, I'm blowing off my steam here, but it's not going away and makes me more determined to be set against the Family. Maybe one day, when they can face their mistakes, when they can say in sincerity and honesty that they were wrong, they ruined lives through their doctrines, they have failed to be honest and they want to be, I can consider accepting them into my life, but until then, I don't know. I don't care to fellowship or have a friendship with hypocrites and people who will cover up for their community to the hurt of others.
