I don't believe it's like God is waiting with a baseball bat to brain some poor honest sinner who slips up. Or someone who loses a loved one and is angry at God. I think the whole long slide away from God is more of a series of deliberate, knowing, wilful choices. David Berg was a classic example of that and had his candlestick removed. I mean, holy cow, he was laying on his bed fantasizing intercourse with voodoo goddesses. He was having sex with his own granddaughter and publishing books telling parents around the world to do it.
Wanna hear a true story? There was this nice old Sunday School teacher, taught the kiddies many years about Jesus. Kindly old man. But on his deathbed he screamed out loud that the demons were coming for him to take him to hell. The whole church was shocked. How could this be? Till his wife finally said, "Well, he was often tempted by the goats."
You gotta ask yourself: which was worse, this guy doing it to the goats in the barnyard, or David Berg doing it to every woman and relative and granddaughter he could get into bed? And telling the world how to do it to their kids too.
