I like that, God help us all to help us all. Yes, DB destroyed many young, fresh lives. Lives that with the right direct and good counsel, could have gone far and done many wonderful things. I do remember Tab as being one of the nice leaders with a good heart. I looked at that letter again, "Sin in the Camp" No. 143 - this is what DB said:
27. "Another very serious situation which cropped up in one colony as it has recently in some other colonies, is a spirit of revelry and pratying, even to the point of over-indulgence in wine and some ohter things to the point that it seems to us that some of you have been more interested in pleasing the flesh and ENJOYING ALL THINGS THAT ARE YOURS IN CHRIST JESUS (He already had the all things doctrine in mind) than you have been concerned about the Lord's kingdom (I gather, they are ok, in moderation, at the right times, with his approval)....and causing some of the weaker brethren to stumble. (He apparently saw the danger in letting new disciples in on his lustings)
30. ".....Your lack of wisdom along these lines has even casued some of the younger ones to stumble and ask if you can do what you're doing, why can't they indulge in extramarital sex and smoke grass!" (Gee, I never saw that before, was Berg letting them get high?)
32. "As we've so often said, THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS GOD COULD GIVE US IF WE COULD BE TRUSTED with them!"
"...the special privileges of his service and these other things are a privilege, a blessing, and a reward, and can be withdrawn from you at any time by the Lord i youa re abusing it...." So, those things were being taught even way back then in 1971!!!!!
