I suspect there are many reasons, including fear that The Family or its agents can start problems for them.
I may be guilty of being sucked into a sex cult but I am proud of having woken up and of having had the courage of walking away from it after giving them many years of my life, with nothing but my God to fall upon. And He has never failed me yet. You think you had it bad because they stole your child but they are in the stealing business. They are still stealing away people's lives and other similar things.
I suspect "guilty perpetrators" wouldn't dare to show up around here but one can never be too sure.
