I know I say this at the risk of being lynched but I get the feeling that these exer boards are kind of like a cult substitute and may tend to enforce those cult qualities that you talked about. It all comes down to that need to belong and to be accepted. I also see signs of extreme antagonism and frustration being expressed here and I don't know if this would be suitable for anyone is slightly confused. I don't really know if this is the best road for people that are leaving a cult and trying to adjust to normal life. I'm not judging - just observing.
