After years of talking about how bad the U.S. is, while locating their money machines (FCF & Activated) in sunny California, I guess what hurts the great whore hurts The Family.

I am a Trustee on a union health and pension fund for the Trade Show and Convention Industry in Southern California. Since 9-11, our members are working approximately 750,000 hours less than they did in the years leading up to 9-11. We have had to cut future pension benefits in half, and have had to make deep cuts in health benefits, and increase co-payments.

At my company, we have had to borrow a lot of money just to keep the doors open while hoping that it will get better soon. We are looking at every single penny we spend.

Big corporations are doing the same thing. The ones who do have money to give to charity are looking very closely at who they are giving and how the money is spent.

Everyone has had to suffer in this economy. Maybe in the future, groups like The Family will have more respect for the decent hard working people who have provided them with the donations that have allowed them to live the way they do. But, somehow I doubt that.
