I totally agree with you. That's why in politics I try to be objective (not always successful) and present the other side because so many people get so polarized and then they simply become arrogant about their beliefs that it's no longer a discussion but a one-sided conversation and if someone doesn't agree, then bam, you're down on the totem pole. It's no different than the complaints I've heard about people shoving religion and/or the bible as what has to be believed. If people want tolerance, they need to be tolerant too.
