Acheick, that is not only deeply affecting but also beautiful poetry. Have you written other pieces?
I was especially struck by the passage:
'the emptiness in my heart
can only be satisfied
by the honey-colored haired little girl"
I used to long similarly for my mother, or rather, for the fantasy of what she would be following a mother's script. I have now given up on that. I don't suggest you do, you are in a different role as the mother, but in my case I just had to stop mistreating myself because the person I had such a unique connection with hated everything I am today. I saw a similar attunement literally kill somebody I loved.
