I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the origins of Berg's 'antichrist systems' theology, the one Berg used to spiritualize the hippie's radical hatred and forsaking of the 'establishment.'
Firstly, is Berg the ORIGINAL religious entity to make the connection between the present 'establishment' and 'antichrist systems?'
Secondly, if Berg borrowed or extrapolated (slightly modified) this idea, where and when did he get it? His mother's Alliance group or perhaps another?
If perchance Berg reinvented the idea on his own, does any one know who invented the idea first? I'm not asking who first stated antichrist would rise through a yet to come 'new world order,' I'm asking who first identified the present world order as the antichrist system.
This idea was a foundational trait of many cults that had their origins in the 60s and 70s, leading to a 'forsake all' doctrine. COG, Michael Woroniecki (Yates' preacher) and the Island Pond cult in VT are examples of groups that capitalized on this idea.
