For Mr. Don: Would your comment about homosexuality be more fitting on Journeys since it is a religious post , not based in science and it is no sin to be homosexual. People often fear what is different, like if one is left handed. That is not the norm, so children used to get their hand beaten for using the "wrong one" and even bible verses were used to shore up that religious condemnation.
Regarding sexuality, Science recognizes homosexuality as normal variations of identity with many human beings, sexually speaking, being on a broad spectrum between strict heterosexual interest to strict homosexual or transgender identity. Left handed mess is also normal orientation for individuals as some are more or less ambidextrous.
What I call criminal (you would call sin?) is rape, abuse, incest pedophilia, bestiality etc. Those are actions that cause other human beings serious trauma. It is sad that some minority group of "professionals" would deem any of this behavior as normal or good. There are some ex family who are homosexual and have killed themselves due to unwarranted shame and loathing about their sexuality because of religious views.
So, calling homosexuality any kind of a sin is a religious and not an academic opinion at least since the seventies.
