While I respect your opinion, if you were a member of the inner circle, then how come you never heard of the Mo Letter that quotes the exact belief of revolutionary suicide held by the PT, in the same time period 1978, and likely makes reference to the People's Temple doctrine that led to the incident. Yes it was a waste by todays standards, but it was a belief held by various groups in the 1970's.
Ricky, unfortunately, committed suicide. But he was making a statement, to him it was a very real issue, and a very important statement, something he truly believed in. That is a very important part of revolutionary suicide. I would like to believe he had a belief, something he believed in, and wanted, or tried to do, that his last words were important. That is the definition of revolutionary suicide.
Most mass suicides have idealogy in the beliefs of the leaders, the common membership are often unaware until it happens. Ricky was a leader, and he did what he beleived, and that deserves respect, not derision.
