This is what I said: "But I don't think Mr. Don completely falls into that category - yet. He is in dangerous ground though, but that's his business."
First, you have to put the two posts together and then see that I am agreeing with the framework the previous post. Then examine my words in that context. In that context, I am expressing my *opinion* that you are not in the category of mixing homosexuality with pedophilia. I am pretty sure I am right on that account.
Then there is the danger I think you are in: that you lack something that's necessary to truly examine and learn from some controversial issues, such as pedophilia, and be able to see that studying some aspects of it can be of help.
You understands the word "help" above to be some sort of support for pedophilia and have dismissed my call for you to accept that studying pedophilia and pedophiles can help prevent their criminal activities.
Again, you seem to think that the word "help" means asking for some sort of support for the pedophile and fail to see that society as a whole will be well served by finding out how it is that these sick individuals are able to perpetrate their henious actions. Since you can see. much less accept this, I am not going to go further with that point.
But why is it that I think you are in dangerous goround? Because I think this is dangerous. Because with that line of thinking you are in fact preventing society from learning about pedophilia and pedophiles in order to better protect itself.
When your method of turning blind eyes on the study of these topics might serve you well, when incarcerating these people and throwing the key away to forget they are there you are fulfilling your personal goals, interests and agendas, when you are wanting to protect society with this attitude and method, you are in fact preventing society from acquiring knowledge about the very evil that they are inflicting on it - on us.
This is what I think you are flirting with and the reason why I am of the opinion that you are in dangerous ground because while thinking that you are protecting society you are actually preventing society from protecting itself.
Then there is yet another dimension to consider, and it is even more subtle. The idea that evil should not be studied simply because it is evil. I might even agree with that up to some point. What we used to say about witnessing, don't talk to the devil and try to save him. That's right. But there is much to be learned by the results of evil activities, including how to avoid them.
Many Christians run away from these type of battles not realizing that is where the real battle is. Many Christians prefer to talk to each other and "minister" to each other when in reality what they are doing is digging their heads into the sand of selfrighteousness to avoid seeing the reality of the spiritual war.
Sad to say, the vast majority of Christians are afraid of calling on the power of God and get into the thick of the spiritual battle to face their own fears and critically examine things and be able to give an answer to every man. Most Christians only work well around other Christians because the others, the ones who need the physician, scare them.
And for all of these reasons I think you are in dangerous ground. I think you are sincere. For whatever is worth, I admire your dedication, but surrounding yourself with people who will not challenge your views is the dangerous ground - but, as I said, that is your prerrogative.
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
And for that, I think you are in dangerous ground.
