I think in the same lines that you do Acheick. Do you remember when Mary Osmond took off and was mentally sick with post-partum depression with her last baby. She was not well, she acted erraticaly and even separated from her husband. She is now back on track but is still under medical care.
Yes, pregnancy is not an easy task and to all of us it has been painful at times afterwards. My youngest son is now 10 and a half and because I was older at the time, it did affect me mentally and physically a lot harder than the first time.
A crime is a crime, I agree! But, we have to treat people in this society, our mental health "experts" have proven themselves wrong in a lot of cases. Just a few days ago in Toronto, the news of a little girl who has been murdered by her "depressive" father has shocked us all. He had visitations rights, he took his two daughters for the week-end, but returned only one. He was interrogated by police and he said that the baby was okay, and then to the horror of all, they found her dead body after a few days in the woods. He was sick, depressed, but then he was allowed to see his children and take them with him without any surveillance. It is great to have rights, but people who are not well should be treated before being "burdened" with the responsibility to care with children. It is a very stressful time in this society and children need a lot of care and attention especially in the younger years, if the people who have to take care of them are not well and need to care of themselves first and it is not done, it is sure that they will "break down" and even though they love those children, if they are not in their right minds, they will do things that they will not do in normal time.
What should we do to reform the system?
