In 1986, Berg directed WS editors to write the articles below based on his own writings, and to have them published in the newspapers. He had several motives for directing his followers to being involved in a ministry toward the Philippine military. The first reason, as he related in his Letters about the “Anti-Antichrists,” was that he believed certain nations would be AAC nations who would rise up and fight the AC, and he wanted a strong military in the Philippines which could do that.

It could be argued that this was a good motive—Mo didn’t want Filipinos to receive the Mark of the Beast—but a lot of incredible military meddling and subversive activity was based upon what was, after all, his interpretation of verses in Daniel.

The year 1986, according to Berg's interpretations of prophecy, which centered around his starring role as the endtime prophet, was the beginning of the last 7 years of world history. The whole U.S. vs. Communism is now passé. These articles show how wrong The Family was about the whole world falling to the communists except for a few AAC countries. It also shows the extent in which Berg was willing to meddle with a sovereign country's internal politics.

Not only did he use publications like these, but he directed his female followers to use FFing to sexually involve themselves with people of power in the Philippines (and other countries), in order to influence them to harbour and protect The Family.

Eventually, the focus would change from helping create “a strong military” to helping overthrow the Aquino administration to put “a strong military junta” in its place. This was in keeping with Mo’s belief that dictatorships were far preferable to democracies.
